Conical antenna for microwave communications

The antenna has an all round radiation characteristic, with a pair of wave type converters (1,2) between rectangular and circular waveguide sections (6,4;7,5). A conical reflector (8) is positioned with its pointed end facing the open end of the circular waveguide (1-5) and aligned with the waveguide axis. The wave type converters are positioned one after the other in the axial direction of the circular waveguide, the first wave per converter (1) associated with a smaller dia. section of the waveguide than the second wave type converter (2).
