A heating and/or air conditioning installation for motor vehicles has an air inlet part, an air outlet part and a middle part located between the air inlet part and the air outlet part that contains at least one air tempering functional component. The heating or air conditioning installation has a modular structure with individual modular units detachably joined to each other at corresponding connection points (4, 6, 7). A connection point is provided at least between the air inlet part (3) and middle part (5) and/or between the middle part and air outlet part (8). A high number of variations is thus possible and the installation can be easily mounted and dismounted. The invention has applications in the car manufacturing industry.
