The castor has a fixing device including a body (30) in a guide in the casing, able to be pushed between a free position and a locked position. This has at least one blocking jaw with a set of curved endface teeth (36) to grip in complementary locking teeth (25) of the part (24) to be locked. The endface teeth of the blocking jaw have a guide tooth (56), which protrudes deeper than the other endface teeth into the space between the teeth of the locking device. The tooth height from foot to tip of the guide tooth is greater than that of the adjacent teeth.
