Dual circuit ABS braking system

The hydraulic braking system has two brake circuits each with its own servo driven hydraulic pump (11, 12). This provides brake control for ABS braking mode after the connection to the master brake cylinder is closed. For wheelspin control the hydraulic pumps provide a rapid pressure build-up by linking the output of one pump to the input of the other pump. Two solenoid valves (45, 46) which are normally closed, provide the connection to build up the hydraulic pressure in either circuit. The linking solenoid valves apply the respective pump output into the fluid reservoir (19, 20) of the adjacent brake circuit for a non return valve feeds the adjacent pump. The wheelspin is corrected by applying brake pressure to the appropriate wheel.
