BIOCIDAL ALCOHOLS, THEIR PRODUCTION AND THEIR USE

Biocidal alcohols of general formulae (I) and (II) are described in which R2 is selected from C1-C8 alkyl, uninterrupted or interrupted by oxygen and/or sulphur atoms, C2-C8 alkenyl and C3-C8 alkynyl, R1 is a significance of R2, independently of R2, or in compounds of formula (I) is hydrogen, each of R3 to R7, independently, is a significance of R2, optionally attached to the aromatic ring by -S- or -O-, is H, halogen, nitrile or thiocyanate, and n is 1 or 2.
