The invention pertains to abrasive wheels comprising an outer abrasive zone (1) of abrasive grain and organic or inorganic bonding material therefor and, in contact therewith, an abrasion-inactive zone (2) to contain fastening means, in particular clamping flanges, to a process for manufacturing the abrasive wheels and a process for reutilizing the abrasive wheels. The invention provides that the abrasion-inactive zone (2) is made from a reusable, structurally dense plastic, optionally containing fortifying agent and/or filler. This abrasion-inactive zone (2) can be reutilized after the abrasive wheel has been used.
