The bearing (7) is protected by a seal (3) from a fluid-filled chamber. A gap (6) in the seal allows a minimum of fluid to bypass the seal and lubricate the bearing. The bearing is made from corrosion-resistant material. Pref. the bearing and seal are fitted within a common housing (12). pref. the seal is a sliding ring seal. Pref. the bearing is a ceramic bearing and is supported on a shaft or in a housing via elastic elements (9,11).
