The radiant heater has a hood (2) that is open in the direction of radiation and contains a combustion chamber (1). Also, a number of reflectors (9) are detachably mounted in the hood in such a way that the reflectors can assume different positions and angles of inclination. In this way the intensity of the radiation can be distributed to conform to prevailing conditions for use. The reflectors can also be easily replaced for purposes of maintenance.
