Hospital bed with height adjustable control on upright

The upright (18) leads under the bed and at least along one edge of the bed. The upright is guided in a cantilevered C-shaped rail (10) fixed to the underside of the bed and in which a carriage moves horizontally on castors (17). The carriage is rigidly fixed to the upright by a side arm vertically spaced apart from the floor surface on which the bed stands. The control comprises a transverse bar (30) swivelable on the upright's longitudinal axis. The support rail is integrated with the free standing bed frame.
