Swarf separator for face milling cutter

The flange (3) is fitted outside of a machine tool spindle, forming the top lid of the housing (2), which has in its top section an inner flange (6), where inner peripheral surface is releasably located on the fixed flange. The lower section of the housing contains a ring (7) concentric to the face milling cutter and near to it. The entire housing assembly is divided into two halves (2a,b) in the peripheral centre. By turning on half, the housing can be opened and closed. One housing half has a swarf exhaust port with a rectangular cross-section. There is a spiral chamber extending from the exhaust port gradually in the milling cutter rotary sense. An exhaust tube (14) extends tangentially from the chamber end.
