A quilt or a garment (1) comprises a pair of textile material sheets (2) interconnected by their edges and connected by a textile material partition wall (4) to define a closed structure having a plurality of compartments (5). Each of said partition walls comprises two opposite marginal regions, each of said marginal regions being joined with a respective textile material sheet by means of a length of tape (8), said tape being surface bonded to the respective sheet along one tape surface, whereas said tape is joined with a respective marginal region of the partition wall by a stitching extending centrally of said tape. The tape comprises a textile material of a tape and a structure identical to that of the sheets. The invention further comprises a method of manufacturing the quilt or garment.
