The present invention relates to an indirect cooling system for injection molds, in which water being filtered at an ion filter (10) is stored in a refillable water tank (30) which stores cooling water, and mold cooling water circulating in the refillable water tank (30) is cooled by a heat exchanger (20). When the amount of the mold cooling water is inadequate, a refillable water inlet valve (11) opens, and a purified water filtered by the ion filter (10) is supplied to the refillable water tank (30) as the mold cooling water. When a mold temperature received from a mold temperature sensor (61) measuring the temperature of a mold (200) is lower than a preselected mold temperature, a mold cooling water heater (50) operates to heat up and circulate the mold cooling water in order to increase the mold temperature up to the preselected temperature, whereas, when the mold temperature is higher than the preselected temperature, a cooling water valve (21) opens to circulate the cooling water in the heat exchanger (20) in order to lower the temperature of the mold cooling water by means of heat exchange. By separating the cooling water flowing inside the heat exchanger (20) from a mold cooling water circulation path, and thereby reducing scale build-up inside the mold and the mold cooling water heater, the indirect cooling system of the present invention can preempt the defects such as oxidized material deposits caused by mold cooling water, maintain the quality of molds, improve productivity, produce products of uniform and high quality, and increase the life of the molds. |
