The side surfaces at least partly connect to the upper surface along the cutting edges (5'). At least one of the cutter cutting edges incorporates at least two adjacent, parallel ground facet surfaces (12,13), which extend in the direction of the cutter edge. The number of ground, parallel facet surfaces along a cutting edge are two, three or four. Each facet surface is mainly level. The ground facet surfaces together comprise an approximation of an edge rounding. Each facet surface has a width of between 10 and 40 micrometres. The uppermost facet surface (12) abuts to a reinforcing phase (15) extending along the cutting edge on the cutter swarf surface. |
