Photographic element containing a novel cyan dye forming a coupler and process for its use

A photographic element has (a) a light sensitive Ag halide emulsion layer and (b) a cyan dye-forming coupler of formula (I) dispersed in an organic solvent and associated with the layer (a). A, B and D = H or F; X = halogen, alkoxy or CH3; R = a straight chain aliphatic gp. opt. substd. by one or more of F, R", OR", SO2R", SO2NHR", CONHR", COOR", NHCOR", NHSO2R" and OCOR" where R" is a prim. or sec. alkyl gp.; R1 = a substit.; m = 0-4; COG = H or a coupling-off gp. capable of being split-off by oxidised colour developer; and wherein X, R and R' ballast the coupler and prevent it diffusing in the photographic coatings. Also claimed is forming an image by exposing the above element and contacting the element with colour developer.
