PURPOSE: To obtain a restored image which is chose to the original image and to remove linear noises due to feature point absence by repeating a diffusion filtering process several times. CONSTITUTION: An interpolator finds interpolation pixels on a grating having intervals equal to sampling intervals from a decoding coefficient and a sample coefficient, performs two-dimensional interpolation with them to find other pixel values, and outputs an interpolation coefficient S28. This is temporarily stored in a previous-frame buffer 72 of a diffusion filter circuit 71 and then supplied to a diffusion filter 73. The filter 72 performs interpolation by filtering points other than feature points with the low-pass filter coefficient. The diffusion decoding coefficient D3 outputted by the circuit 73 is stored in a rear-frame buffer 74 and when processing of one frame ends, the stored coefficient D3 is transferred to the buffer 72; after a similar diffusion filtering process is performed a specific number N of times, the result is outputted as a diffusion filtering coefficient D1. |
