PURPOSE: To improve the operability of setting actuation when speed limitation is the lowest speed by displaying a message to set up printing speed in a range of speed limitation and printing when the printing speed is set in the range of speed limitation. CONSTITUTION: When a printing apparatus 1 is used with a sorter 2 connected, a user can select printing speed in a designated range, a needless service person call is eliminated by a display means 94 which notifies the user that there is speed limitation for the selected printing speed. When the speed limitation is the lowest speed, the operability of setting actuation by a speed setting means 91, 92 improves. A control means, based on signals from a sorter mode setting means 83 and the speed setting means 91, 92, makes a display means 93 conduct message display 94 to set up the printing speed in the range of speed limitation. When the printing speed is set up in the range of speed limitation by the speed setting means 91, 92, printing can be conducted. |
