PURPOSE: To obtain a composition containing a halogenated hydantoin, a specific poyethylene oxide, and a powdery alkali agent, exhibiting excellent sterilizing and clarifying actions for a long period, little in the generation of chlorine gas, and capable of simply preventing the adhesion of slim stains originated from bacteria. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains (A) a halogenated hydantoin such as a compound of the formula (X<1> , X<2> are Cl, Br; R<4> , R<5> are hydrocarbon groups), (B) a polyethylene oxide compound such as a compound of formula: R<1> -CO-O(CH2 CH2 O)n R<2> (R<1> is 11-21C alkyl; R<2> is H, 12-22C alkanoyl; n is a value giving a melting point or softening point of >=10 deg.C to the compound) or a compound of formula: HO(CH2 CH2 O)m R<3> (R<3> is H, 1-4C alkyl; m is n), and (C) a powdery alkali agent such as magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium silicate or sodium silicate. |
