摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To effectively avoide the congestion by providing an inter-network connection device at a point where the variable speed network are connected to each other to change the packed acceleration or the upper limit value of packet acceleration ratio into the value corresponding to the variable speed network on the transfer destination side. CONSTITUTION: When a congestion prediction signal detection circuit 7 of a variable speed terminal equipment 1 detects a congestion prediction signal, the packet transmission speed of the output packet flow of a buffer 4 is reduced by the control of a LAN packet flow control circuit 5. At the same time, a congestion prediction signal detection circuit 23 of an inter-network connection device 20 detects that the congestion prediction signal inserted by a relay node device 2 contained in a WAN is included in a received packet and notifies a WAN packet flow control circuit 22 of this fact. The circuit 22 reduces the packet transmission speed of the output packed flow of the buffer 21 in response to the notification received from the circuit 23. Thus the congestion avoiding control is attained. When the number of stored packets of the buffer 21 increases, a congestion prediction signal is sent from the device 20. So that the overflow of the buffer 21 can be avoided.</p>
