PURPOSE: To provide a headlamp for a vehicle wherein a water repellant finishing layer is provided on a lens surface of the headlamp in order to prevent the lens surface from dew condensing. CONSTITUTION: Water repellant resin such as fluororesin coating film 22 is provided on a light projection surface 21 of a lens body 20. A bulb chamber 10 is sealed by providing packing members 14 and 15 between a housing 11 and the lens body 20 so as to prevent waterdrops, dust, etc., from comming into the bulb chamber 10. Dew condensed on the film 22 makes a big waterdrop. The big waterdrop falls to an inclined portion 11a formed at a bottom wall of the housing 11 for leading the waterdrop to a drain 13 and the waterdrop is drained outside. Even if the dew condensation occurs on the light projection surface 21 of the lens body 20, condensed dew becomes a big waterdrop by the film 22 and the waterdrop falls to the inclined portion 11a so that the dew becomes nil. Luminous intensity distribution of the light beam from the light projection surface 21 of the lens body 20 is not scattered. A road surface in front of the vehicle is always illuminated sufficiently. The film 22 for removing condensed can be provided easily and inexpensively. |
