PURPOSE: To largely improve display quality by improving the visual angle characteristics of a liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: A prism sheet 2 is disposed on a back light 1 and a lower polarizing plate 3 is disposed on the prism sheet 2. An upper polarizing plate 5 is disposed to face the lower polarizing plate 3 holding a TN liquid crystal cell 4 between these polarizing plates. A microlens array 6 is disposed at the panel visualizing side on the upper polarizing plate. The microlens array 6 having circular unit structural elements having optical anisotropy arranged in a matrix are disposed at the panel visualizing side on TN liquid crystal cell 4 containing two kinds of regions having different pritilte direction inside two substrates.
