PURPOSE: To enable color thermal printing to be effected with good printing quality and printing durability without decreasing the efficiency of printing thermal energy. CONSTITUTION: A color thermal recording material 2 having a degraded surface protection film after the completion of printing is delivered from the delivery part 9, however, a protection agent reservoir 13 filled with a re-application protection agent is provided in front of a pair of paper delivery rollers 8 arranged in front of the paper delivery part 9, and this reservoir and paper delivery roller 8-1 are connected by an application angle 14 consisting of an aggressive fiber material. The re-application protection agent in the protection agent reservoir 13 is supplied into the delivery roller 8-1 by a capillary action passing through the application angle 14. The re-application protection agent is applied on the degraded surface of a color thermal recording material 2 of the surface protection layer, thereby achieving an unevenness, smoothness and reinforcement of the surface. |
