PURPOSE: To prevent erroneous measurement of distance on the side of close range. CONSTITUTION: This multipoint range finder is equipped with a plurality of light receiving means 101 and 104, which are arranged separately in longitudinal direction of a base line from a projection means and receive the reflected light by the object of distance measurement of the projected light from the projection means and output a pair of signals geared to the distance to the object of distance measurement, and a second light receiving means 107 which receives only one out of a plurality of light receiving spot images which are made, being reflected by the object of distance measurement only in case that the object of distance measurement is positioned at close range. The close range judgment is made, based on the output of the second light receiving means 107 being arranged in the position where it can receive one out of a plurality of light receiving spot images which are made, being reflected with the object of distance measurement provided separately from the first light receiving means 101 and 104 used at the time of measurement of normal distance, in short, positioned at close range. |
