PURPOSE: To provide the eddy-current flaw detector having the rotary flaw detecting probe, which can obtain high flaw resistance or an SN ratio. CONSTITUTION: The facing shaft-edge parts of an input-side guide sleeve 24 and an output-side guide sleeve 26 with the axial-direction gap being provided mutually approach closer when the edge parts are directed closer toward the inner surface side. At the same time, the tip part of a rotary flaw detecting probe 30 is formed so that the side of the tip part in the direct axial direction becomes smaller when the tip part approaches closer to a wire rod 22. Therefore, the gap B in the axial direction between the input-side guide sleeve 24 and the output-side guide sleeve 26 can be made small. When the space (α+β) between the tip part of the rotary flaw detecting probe 30 and the wire rod 22 is equal, the flaw resistance can be improved to the large extent. When the space (α+β) between the tip part of the rotary flaw detecting probe 30 and the wire rod 22 is made small, the SN ratio can be greatly improved without impairing the flaw resistance.
