PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful as a green dye for organic substrates containing OH or N and having good levelness, reproducibility, dyeing property, etc. CONSTITUTION: This phthalocyanine monoazo compound is expressed by the formula [Pc is phthalocyanine; M is Ni, Cu, etc.; R1 , R4 , R7 and R9 are each H or a lower alkyl; R2 and R3 are each H, sulfo, etc.; R5 and R6 are each H, a lower alkoxy, etc.; R8 is H, SO3 H, etc.; R10 and R11 are each sulfo, a lower alkyl, etc.; X1 to X3 are each CH=CH2 or CH2 CH2 Y (Y is a group capable of eliminating with an alkali); (p) is 0-2; (q) is 1-3; (r) is 1-2 and (p+q+r)<=4, with the proviso that when (p) is 0, R8 is F, Cl, etc.] or its mixture. The compound is obtained by condensing copper phthalocyaninesulfochloride with 2,4- diaminobenzenesulfonic acid and 1-aminobenzene-3-β-sulfatoethylsulfone and then successively reacting a diazo composition of the condensation product with m-ureidoaniline and cyanuric chloride and then reacting the reactional product with 1-aminobenzene-3-β-sulfatoethylsulfone.
