PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for producing fullerenes capable of efficiently producing the fullerenes such as C60 or C70 . CONSTITUTION: This apparatus for producing fullerenes is capable of cooling and resolidifying carbon vapor vaporized at a high temperature by generating a DC arc discharge across a pair of carbonaceous electrode bars and producing the fullerenes. Furthermore, the apparatus is obtained by rotatably installing cylindrical water-cooled drums 7 parallel to the carbonaceous electrode bars 4 and 5 around the carbonaceous electrode bars oppositely arranged in a production chamber 1 at a moderate interval therebetween and fixing and installing wiper members 9 in a state thereof kept in sliding contact with the surfaces of the cylindrical water-cooled drums 7 on the inner wall of the production chamber 1. |
