PURPOSE: To provide a function capable of early detecting the occurrence of leakage and permeation of reaction gas between both electrodes of a fuel cell main body. CONSTITUTION: A sampling pipe 20 is connected to a gas discharge manifold of a fuel cell main body 10, for example, to a fuel gas discharge manifold 14, and discharge fuel gas of a constant flow rate is sucked by a suction pump 43 controlled by a flow meter 34 and a flow rate controller 36, and is introduced to and cooled by a high temperature gas cooler 22 and an electronic cooler 27. Obtained high temperature side drain water 31 and low temperature side drain water 32 are stored in a drain water weighing vessel 39 as weighing drain water 33, and time necessary to store a prescribed quantity is measured by a water meter 42, and a fuel gas drain water flow rate is found. An air drain measuring device 44 compares it with a standard flow rate calculated by adding an output electric current value obtained by an electric current converter 48 connected to an output terminal 15, and investigates the existence of an increase, and detects the existence of leakage and permeation of reaction gas between both electrodes. |
