摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a rewritable optical recording/reproducing device capable of always setting an optimum recording power state compensating a temp. characteristic of medium recording sensitivity by correcting recording power or re-starting recording power optimization setting processing. CONSTITUTION: A regenerative error rate decision circuit 9 compares the reproducing test data with the recording data to perform the quality decision of a regenerative signal. A recording control circuit 10 reduces lower limit recording power when a regenerative error rate decision result at initial lower limit recording power is normal, and increases the lower limit recording power when abnormal to execute repeatedly test recording/reproducing, and performs the detection of the minimum lower limit recording power obtaining the normal decision in the regenerative error rate decision result. The recording control circuit 10 decides the optimum recording power by adding a prescribed low band margin power value to an optimum lower limit recording power value, and stores the optimum recording power in a memory circuit 12, or executes renewal processing to end a series of the recording power optimization setting processing.
