PURPOSE: To obtain an ink composition for ink jet recording showing excellent volatility and excellent particle settling-resistant stability, containing a particle dispersion type electrorheological fluid prepared by dispersing dielectric particles into a specific dispersion medium having low viscosity, high volatility and high specific gravity. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains particle dispersion type electrorheological fluid prepared by dispersing (B) dielectric particles into (A) a fluorocarbon-based electrical insulating medium (preferably one having 1-2 specific gravity at 25 deg.C, 80-200 deg.C boiling point and 0.5-3cSt kinematic viscosity). To be concrete, for example, a perfluorocarbon or a fluorocarbon is used as the component A. Inorganic or organic composite particles comprising a core material composed of an organic polymer compound such as poly(meth)acrylic ester and a surface layer composed of an inorganic substance having electrorheological effect such as a hydroxide of a polyvalent metal are preferable as the component B. The content of the component B in the composition is preferably 10-40wt.%. |
