In a tyre tread profile for a vehicle tyre having profile grooves which extend essentially obliquely with respect to the transverse direction and between which profile blocks are delimited, there is provision, according to the invention, in order to improve the transmission of traction forces and braking forces, for projections (15) to be provided on the side faces (11) which bound the profile blocks (5) with respect to the profile grooves (1), the said projections (15) widening towards the base (11) of the groove in a V shape and extending stepped in a saw-tooth shape in the longitudinal direction of the profile grooves (1).
