PURPOSE: To provide the image processing unit by which a user of an ECR or the like prints out a service message on a receipt paper sheet so as to effectively utilize the receipt paper sheet and a user's original character message is given to the service message to be printed in a refined typestyle with a simple means. CONSTITUTION: An image scanner 8 reads a service message comprising a graphic message and a hand-written character message. A ROM 3 stores a character discrimination program discriminating the read character message and character data to convert the discriminated characters into characters of a prescribed typestyle and also print area data to insert the characters whose typestyle is converted and subjected to prescribed magnification, reduction and centering processing to a prescribed area of the graphic message for print. Memory areas to store a composite image resulting from inserting the character message after magnification, reduction and centering processing to the graphic message are formed in a RAM 4. |
