PURPOSE: To obtain a superconducting magnet apparatus capable of reducing a thermal load to an inner tank by restricting a current induced to a low electric resistance layer attached to the surface of an inner tank when exciting or degaussing a superconducting coil. CONSTITUTION: This superconducting magnet apparatus comprises an inner tank 4 made of a material with a high electric resistance which houses a superconducting coil 1 and liquid helium 11, a low electric resistance layer 42 formed on the surface at the outer side of said inner tank 4, a slit for cutting a main loop by exposing the surface of a high electric resistance material 41 to part of the low electric resistance layer 42, and resistance varying means which is electrically coupled to the low electric resistance layer 42 of said slit and becomes a high electric resisting body during the excitation of the superconducting coil 1 and becomes a high conductive body when high frequency magnetic field acts to the superconducting coil 1. |
