PURPOSE: To suppress an excessive vertical vibration of a float floating on a refrigerant liquid inside a vessel in relation to the level of the refrigerant liquid by a method wherein a force of resistance applied onto the surface of the float by the fluctuation of the level of the refrigerant liquid inside the vessel is specified in relation to relative velocity of the float to the level. CONSTITUTION: A float 71 is moved vertically by the fluctuation of a level of a refrigerant liquid 9 and moves a valve rod 81 in linkage to the float 71. When the level of the refrigerant liquid 9 exceeds a prescribed range, a valve 84 is held in a closed state by the pressure head of the refrigerant liquid inside a refrigerant liquid pipe 21. In the case when the level of the refrigerant liquid 9 is in the prescribed range or below, on the other hand, a valve element 83 is so pushed as to be separated from a valve seat 82, through the intermediary of the valve rod 81, under the own weight of the float 71 and thereby the valve 84 is held in an opened state. Herein a force R of resistance applied onto the surface of the float 71 by the fluctuation of the level of the refrigerant liquid 9 inside a vessel 61 is set so that R>=2.5×(v) be established in relation to the relative velocity (v) of the float 71 to the level.
