METHOD FOR TESTING OPTICAL LINE

PURPOSE: To reduce the test time and cost by applying parallel operation to devices and parallel processing to a test of an optical pulse. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 7 executes continuously an operation command to a coated optical fiber selector 5 selecting optical fibers 3a-3d and a measurement condition setting command of an optical pulse test equipment 6 testing the selected optical fiber. In the case of continuous test for the plural optical fibers 3a-3d, after summing averaging processing of the optical fibers 3a-3d is finished, the CPU 7 commands the operation of the coated optical fiber selector 5 to select a succeeding optical fiber from among the optical fibers 3a-3d and after transfer of measurement data of the optical fiber from the test equipment 6 to the CPU 7 is finished, the CPU 7 commands the operation of setting of measurement condition of a succeeding optical fiber to the test equipment 6. After the CPU 7 commands the setting of the measurement condition of the succeeding optical fiber to the test equipment 6, the measurement data transferred from the test equipment 6 are analyzed and displayed except the time when the CPU 7 is operating.
