<p>PURPOSE: To enable shift in tracking for tape pass adjustment, splicing, post- recording and insertion in a reproduction tracking control of a 2fATF system. CONSTITUTION: A track with no pilot signal and a track having pilot signals of f1 and T2 recorded thereon are formed on a tape 1 with ch1 and ch2 heads 51 and 52. The f1 and f2 components are extracted with a switch 18, BPFs 21, 23 and 24 and detection circuits 25 and 26 from reproduction signals of the heads 51 and 52 and applied to a differential amplifier 27 to obtain first and second tracking error signals from the resulting level difference. A S/H circuit 30 samples first and second tracking signals at a specified frequency respectively to be applied to a capstan servo circuit 15. Thus, a shift in tracking is made possible by mixing the first tracking error signal used in a normal tracking with the second tracking error signal.</p> |
