摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To perform the flow control on a VC(virtual channel) for every VC bundle at low cost by means of a non-user information cell by setting a VC between two switchboards to transmit and receive the flow control information against the VC bundles flowing between both switchboards. CONSTITUTION: The communication is carried out between the terminals 101 to 104 and the terminals 108 to 105 via the switchboards 109 to 112, and the VC bundles are set between terminals 101←→108 and 102←→197. At the same time, a VC is set between the switchboards 109 and 110 to transmit and receive the flow control information against the VC bundles, and the VC setting cells are generated at both start and end points. Thus a VPI/VCI is decided between the switchboards while deciding whether the network resources can be secured or not. Then a cell header exchange table is set on each switchboard. The switchboards 109 to 110 transmit and receive the congestion and control information by means of an information VC, a resources management cell, an OAM cell, etc., for the VC bundles. As a result, even an inexpensive terminal can perform the flow control and also can reduce the congestion.</p>
