PURPOSE: To provide a base plate having uniformly arrayed microspheres and its producing method, and an optical fiber probe high in spatial resolution of detection and easy in production. CONSTITUTION: A sphere arrayed layer 3 is formed on the base plate 1 composed of a planer glass plate such as a slide glass by arraying microspheres 2 composed of a synthetic resin such as a latex sphere having 50-100nm diameter into one layer on the base plate 1. The sphere arrayed layer 3 is constituted of two dimensional closest packed structure that six particles surrounding one particle is allowed to come into contact with each other on a flat plate.
