PURPOSE: To provide a connector for polarization maintaining optical fiber which are easily assembled with high precision, and can shorten the operation time, adhere and fix the optical fiber to a ferrule uniformly, and suppress deterio ration such as crosstalk. CONSTITUTION: In the SC compatible type polarization maintaining optical fiber connector, the stop ring 30 has a screw part at its outer peripheral part and is engaged by screwing with a threaded groove 74 formed at the inner peripheral part of a plug frame 70. An engagement tongue piece 35 which extends axially is formed atop of the stop ring 30 and can be engaged with a key groove 12 formed at the outer peripheral part of the flange 11 of the ferrule 10. In a state where the engagement piece 35 of the stop ring is engaged with the key groove 12 of the flange 11 of the ferrule 10, the stop ring 30 and ferrule 10 are rotated relatively to the plug frame 70 and the direction of the main axis of the optical fiber F is set to a desired angle to the plug frame 70. |
