PURPOSE: To provide a handwriting input device capable of simplifying processing such as rewriting relating to the display of handwriting until the recognition of the handwriting. CONSTITUTION: The handwriting input device is provided with a tablet 8 for detecting positional coordinates based upon a handwritten input, an FEP 1a for recognizing characters based upon coordinate data and an application operation part 1b for executing document preparing and editing processing based upon the recognized result. The device is also provided with a plotting VRAM 5 for storing the processing contents of the operation part 1b, an LCD 6 for displaying the processing contents and a handwriting VRAM 13 for storing the coordinate data of handwriting and displaying the data on the LCD 6 during a period from the start of handwriting up to character recognition. |
