PURPOSE: To provide an image recording material capable of recording an image having a high density and excellent in the fixing property via a digital exposure by laser and obtaining an image excellent in contrast and having no color on a non-image section. CONSTITUTION: At least an image forming layer containing a compound changing the tone when reacted with Brnsted acid and a resin component capable of being depolymerized by acid and a developer layer containing a compound generating acid via an exposure are laminated on a base. At least one kind of compound selected from a specific polycarbonate and poly(4-esterified styrene) is preferably used for the resin component capable of being depolymerized by acid.
