CONSTITUTION: When a user inserts an IC card to a navigation apparatus and a power source is turned on, a reset release command is sent from the apparatus to the card, an answer-to-reset data is returned. Thus, a necessary card I/F, etc., is set. Further, personalization is judged by a personalizing flag. When the personalization is judged, personalized data is read from the card. Further, a secret key and the personalized data in the apparatus are used together, and an authenticated algorithm is calculated. Simultaneously, the personalized data and the secret key are used together in the card, the same algorithm is calculated, and the calculated results are verified, and if it coincides with each other, the user is recognized to be valid, and the apparatus is started. |
