Prodn. of moulded plastic parts decorated in three dimensions by: a) making a thin plaque of thermoplastic materials with a decorated surface (2) in a material able to be decorated by sublimation e.g. of a polycarbonate base and a liaison surface from a material able to be welded by melting in an over-moulding operation to another thermoplastic, e.g. of an ABS base; b) decorating the first surface by hot sublimation transfer; c) thermoform the thin decorated plaque to the outside shape to the finished part; d) cut to finished shape if necessary; e) over-mould the liaison surface by injection moulding in a mould containing the formed thin plaque with the liaison surface facing into the mould. Also claimed are the injection mould and remnants of the finished prod. |
