PURPOSE: To make possible efficient rush current control by preventing the excessive heat generation of a rush current control element for the prevention control of a rush current generated at the time of turning on a thermal fixing heater heating an image fixing unit for an image forming device. CONSTITUTION: The thermal fixing heater 11 is connected to a commercial power source 17 in series with the rush current control element (for instance, a power thermistor) 13a and a first heater driving circuit 14a and a second heater driving circuit 14b are connected to the heater 11 and the power source 17, to be parallel with the rush current control element 13a and the heater driving circuit 14a. A CPU 18 receives the result of the detection of a temperature detecting mans 16 detecting the temp. of the rush current control element 13a and executes control to turn off the first heater driving circuit 14a and turn on the second heater driving circuit 14b, when the detected temperature is a prescribed one or more. The heater 11 is turned on/off by the ON/OFF of the heater driving circuits 14a and 14b. |
