PURPOSE: To provide a lithographic printing plate using the silver salt diffusion transfer process and excellent in the printing property, particularly printing resistance, by making the developing process with a developer containing pyrosulfite. CONSTITUTION: This lithographic printing plate uses the silver salt diffusion transfer process, and it has a physical development center between a particularly roughened and anodized aluminum base and a silver halide emulsion layer. The lithographic printing plate is processed by a developer containing pyrosulfite. An alkali metal salt, e.g. sodium salt, potassium salt, or lithium salt, is used for the pyrosulfite. The quantity is preferably set to 1-40 (g) for the developer of 1 (1). The developer can contain a developing agent, e.g. polyhydroxybenzenes, an alkaline material, e.g. potassium hydroxide, a constant- temperature agent, e.g. sodium sulfite, a consistency agent, e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose, an antifoggant, e.g. potassium bromide, and a denaturant, e.g. polyethylene oxide. |
