<p>PURPOSE: To provide a picture image clipping device and a lay-out scanner which can easily obtain a high-precision mask data. CONSTITUTION: An indication inputting means 1 to which a user inputs an indication and a storing means 5 which stores clipped picture image data, a layout means 4 which conducts layout processing and a display means 6 which displays the picture image represented by the data outputted from the layout means 4 are provided. The layout means 4 traces the contour of the clipped picture image inputted from the indication inputting means 1, prepares a mask data whose clipped region is the traced region, and seeks a semi-transparent picture image data which represents the clipped region of the mask data, which is outputted together with the clipped picture image. And while the display means 6 displays the clipped picture image on a display screen, it displays the picture image represented by the transparent picture image on the front surface of the clipped picture image.</p> |
