Novelty is gas chamber with gas tube, heat exchanger inside nuclear reactor, plutonium-lithium alloy in fuel elements. Lithium-6+neutron; helium-4+tritium+4.8 MeV; 1 kg of uranium releases energy of 2.22 . 10J; 1 kg of lithium-6 releases energy of 4.6.10J, that is, 2.07.10times greater amount of energy. It produces smaller amount of radioactive waste per unit power. Use can be made of plutonium extracted from nuclear weapon to be destroyed. Lithium-plutonium reactor is designed for use in nuclear power stations. EFFECT: increased energy released by fuel elements. |
