The surface of the bristle block (3) facing the teeth, rises towards the bristle block axis (5). The rising surface (4) is arcuated and/or stepped. Pref. the arcuated surface has an infra arcuation from the longitudinal sides (6) of the bristle to an axis.Typically the bristle block comprises a biconcave shape in cross-section. A sharp tip section can be provided in the bristle block axis. Alternatively the tip may be flat, or rounded, or may form a recess. The bristles may form pairs of mirror-offset shape in transverse direction.
