A d.c. power source receiving an a.c. voltage and outputting a d.c. voltage is designed for application with a redundant drive and for suppressing any harmonic component as well as providing a d.c. supply system and contains an a.c. voltage to d.c. voltage converter (11) which provides full-wave rectification (14) of the applied a.c. voltage, a chopper circuit with reactance winding (16) and first transistor (15) as well as a driver control circuit (20) which receives a pulsed d.c. voltage after rectification (14) an emitter current of the first transistor (15) and an output voltage of chopper circuit (15,16).
