Glass panels are released non-destructively from an automobile substructure for recycling by a method in which the precise position of the adhesive seam is determined and the presence of a metal non-metal or non-metal non-metal joint is detected, the joint then being parted. Inductive non-contact heating is used to heat the joint area to separate the components. Also claimed is an arrangement of a capacitative initiator (10) and an inductive initiator (11) in a housing (12), which is moved over or on the panel, a means (15) being provided for marking and/or computer-aided storage of the adhesive joint route. Power supply (16) is provided to the unit.
