<p>A fire interrupting and hangfire safety system for an automatic small- or medium-calibre multibarrel firearm including a device (120) for rotationally locking the rotary assembly (100) of the weapon. The device (120) includes damping means (122a, 122b) coaxial to the rotary assembly (100) of the weapon, and a control device that rotates with the rotary assembly (100) and is translatably movable, after an ammunition malfunction or when an external control (190) is operated, for compressing the damping means (122a, 122b) and absorbing the rotational kinetic energy of the rotary assembly (100) of the weapon, whereafter releasing the damping means (122a, 122b) causes the rotary assembly (100) of the weapon to rotate in the opposite direction and stop.</p> |
