<p>This invention is a variable controlled traction exercice apparatus for exercising a lumbar region of a user in a controlled manner using a variable amount of the body weight of the user to provide traction. The apparatus having a frame (28), means (30) for maintaining at least a portion of an upper body or appendage of the user at a generally fixed position relative to the frame (28), and a pivotal seat assembly (32). The seat assembly (32) pivots about a first axis of rotation (93) to move between a raised forward position and a lowered rearward position. Variable traction is provided by controlling the pivotal movement of the seat assembly (32) relative to the frame.</p> |
